I mean not really, but I think I've worked through most of my complicated feelings about knowing when you die so it's cool.
Let's focus on the part where he's killed a lot of people. Are we talking 'he killed a ton of bad people and we're mostly sure he's not going to keep doing that here' kind of killing a lot of people or 'he's killed a lot of people in general and he'll kill more here' kind of killing a lot of people?
BTW I miss having laws. Why is this a thing we have categories for now? I liked when we just threw killers in jail back home. It was way easier.

He killed them for the OPA. And to further his own rep among thugs. The OPA is like a street gang on Earth right except they're rock hoppers. They're everywhere and there aren't any laws in space. Not ones you can enforce anyway.

I don't think he means to hurt anyone here. He's from after my time, I don't know what his motives are anymore. But just like all of us, he wants to get back. I think he'll fall in line to help us do that.

Reassuring? Or I guess as reassuring as things get around here. I hope you don't have to kill him. I'm pretty anti-murder, but I also know I am literally the last person who will be told if someone murders someone else around here so you know. I'm going to decide not to worry about it and just keep this in mind if we end up talking again.
[ Even though they ran out of alcohol awhile ago, Naomi decides to check the bar for Miller on her way back down to her quarters. If he's not there she'll just call him to come by but it's worth looking and sure enough... there's her favorite (okay, her only) space detective, sitting at a table in the corner by himself. She meanders over to him, taking in the very empty bar around them. ]

[ he registers magboots vaguely, but he's pitched forward against the bar, his hat shielding his face with his head propped up on two fingers. it's impossible to tell if he's waking or asleep and even as he asks himself that question it doesn't become any clearer. her familiar voice starts him, and slowly he's moving like a tin soldier with his winder well-spun. swiveling on the barstool to face naomi, he gestures to the one next to him before his hand goes right back to his face. ]
Bar with no booze... isn't great for business. You can imagine why.

[ Some peace? Naomi hums, not quite agreement but not arguing the point, either. She slips onto a stool as well, leaning one elbow on the bar thoughtfully. She has no idea what he's been up to -- it's been awhile, indeed, and she'd been occupied with the newly opened command deck and looking after her boys last month when the station hit them so hard. It's time to catch up with Miller, definitely, and would be polite to do so before grilling him for information, but she's not going to be a jerk about it. ]
